Welcome!
Why not come and stay at Letheringham Lodge and immerse yourself in an oasis of medieval history surrounded by 75 acres of private, pristine Suffolk countryside.
Letheringham Lodge was built in 1472 to watch and celebrate the deer hunt, today wild fallow deer simply graze and wander freely through our woodlands.
Whether you fancy swimming with your dog in the wild swimming pond, or lazing in a hammock in the woods, the magic of the estate remains as it always has - a private secluded retreat to immerse yourself in nature.
We invite you to come and stay in any or all of our professionally styled historic cottages each packed with character and comfort.
Simply choose between our 4 bed Guest House, our 3 bed Coach House, our 2 bed Rose Cottage or our 1 bed Swan Cottage. We are dog-friendly, incredibly hospitable and live on-site and on-call to make your holiday the dream you imagined.
What makes us standout apart from the beauty of the estate is the professionalism of the styling and the additional luxury add-ons offered during your stay. Explore below all the extras you have here.
Professionally styled interiors by a famous author
Kay Prestney, author of “A home for all seasons”, is a celebrated Suffolk Stylist who shares our passion for creating sustainable interiors using biophilic design principles and natural materials. She has helped us create comfortable, Scandi-chic, cottages luxuriously decorated with lush green plants.
Your every need has been meticulously thought through from exquisitely comfortable beds to easy-to-light wood-burners; from the comfort of fur clad sofas to soft woollen throws for outside dining.
Gourmet adventures from a renowned local celebrity chef
As well as the cottages, we can arrange a private chef to cook for you. Maria Elia is a renowned TV celebrity chef and cookery book writer whose experience in the legendary El Bulli kitchen inspired her innovative approaches in restaurants such as Coast (Stephen Terry’s trailblazing 1990s and 2000s restaurant), Delfina (a stalwart of Bermondsey Street, now one of London’s culinary meccas) and The Whitechapel Gallery Dining Room and Café (which received rave reviews, two AA Rosettes and a mention in the Michelin guide).
Her 2 person luxury BBQ is a must and includes lobster tails with exquisite dips!
Scent Creations with a Perfumer
Our onsite fragrance lab has over 400 scents for you to explore. A 2 hour scent blending mini-workshop is available to every guest where you create your own signature scent as a perfume, candle or diffuser.
Our in-house perfumer Pauline Bickerton, founder of Loggique, was professionally trained by Fragonard and is expert at blending therapeutic essential oils with non-toxic synthetic scents such as Rose Otto. You will learn all the insider secrets of perfumery and so much more …
A private and personalised Yoga or Barre Fit Session
Our on-site yoga and dance studio can be reserved for your exclusive use. We can then arrange either a Yoga teacher or Barre Fit instructor for you.
Both of our teachers are able to accommodate up to 3 people and each one hour session is tailored to suit your level, your preferences and your physical needs. You simply use our contact form once you have booked a cottage and give us some preferred dates during your stay and we do the rest.
Our wonderful teachers:

Sarah Hastings is a renowned ballet and dance teacher who has recently become famous locally for her exceptional Barre Fit class.
